We saw a great effort by the organisers yesterday to catch up the schedule in a very heavily disrupted day, and the signs on Saturday morning did not look promising at all.

Another day of delayed starts in Melbourne as the rain continued to make its presence felt, but with three roofed courts, (that were mostly planned for hot sun and heat conditions) fans (especially with ground passes to get into Hisense area) were assured of some tennis to start their day.

Bringing on the night – for some inexplicable reason Genie Bouchard trotted out on court with just half an outfit, and after a spirited start the streamlined style must have worked as she scored the initial break over Radwanska, only for the Pole to break straight back.
