Andy Murray soared from eighth to fifth in the 2014 ATP race to the World Tour Finals by outlasting Tommy Robredo 3-6, 7-6(7), 7-6(8) in an epic final of the Valencia Open on Sunday. Although he has not yet mathematically clinched, Murray's third title of the fall swing makes him virtually a lock to qualify for London.
Tommy Robredo dethroned undefeated champion Feliciano Lopez in the fourth edition of “Corona’s Longest Serve” competition on Monday at the City of Arts and Sciences, venue of the Valencia event.The Spaniard hit the ball a distance of 72m in his “Corona’s Longest Serve” debut, surpassing Lopez’s 68m and John Isner's 67m.

Novak Djokovic extended his perfect record at the China Open to 21-0 by defeating Vasek Pospisil 6-3, 7-5 on Wednesday afternoon. Djokovic, who is looking to win a fifth title in Beijing, needed one hour and 25 minutes to reach the quarterfinals. He is joined there by John Isner, a 3-6, 7-5, 7-6(4) winner over Tommy Robredo.
Rafael Nadal's singles comeback got off to a perfect start on Tuesday afternoon at the China Open. Nadal, who had been out of action for three months since Wimbledon due to a wrist injury, crushed Richard Gasquet 6-4, 6-0 in the first round. The Spaniard needed just one hour and 18 minutes to advance.
Andy Murray won his first singles title since winning Wimbledon 15 months ago. Novak Djokovic's hard-court struggles continued on Thursday with a 7-6(6), 7-5 loss to Tommy Robredo in the third round of the Western & Southern Open. Djokovic is now a modest 2-2 since winning Wimbledon, having previously lost to Jo-Wilfried Tsonga at the same stage of last week's Rogers Cup.
