Kei Nishikori is being billed as the King of Asia after being the first man from the continent to reach a Grand Slam final in the Open and he’s underling the fact after winning back to back titles in first the Malaysian capital of Kuala Lumpur and now taking the Tokyo trophy for the second time at the Rakuten Japan Open Tennis Championships.
Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, and Roger Federer will kick off their Shanghai Rolex Masters campaigns on Monday. Well, Nadal is still expected to--but his participation is in doubt. Novak Djokovic captured his fifth China Open title in as many tries and improved to 24-0 lifetime at the event by hammering Tomas Berdych 6-0, 6-2 in Sunday's final. At the Rakuten Japan Open, meanwhile, fans went home happy after witnessing a much more competitive match.

Rafael Nadal's comeback to tennis following a three-month layoff due to wrist problems ended abruptly on Friday, with a quarterfinal loss to Martin Klizan at the China Open. Klizan pulled off a 6-7(7), 6-4 , 6-3 upset after two hours and 37 minutes. The Slovak is joined in the semis by Novak Djokovic, Andy Murray, and Tomas Berdych.
Speculation is starting to surface that the move of Roger Federer's physio from the Swiss over to Grigor Dimitrov was merely a sideways swap engineered by Team 8, which is owned by Federer and his agent Tony Godsick and which manages the up-and-coming Dimitrov.
Andy Murray was due to maintain a demanding schedule in the Far East today when he faced current US Open champion Marin Cilic in the China Open in Beijing. And the Scot who was triumphant in New York two years ago before becoming also the Wimbledon champion maintains the current swing through Asia is the most demanding in tennis.
