Emotion. If there was one word which summed up two weeks of intense, demanding and often brilliant tennis at the BNP Paribas Open that was it. Arms froze; hands shook, tears flowed and even the occasional scream could be heard from the sidelines as players tried to gather themselves and release the tension that was building up inside taught and tired bodies.
It was by no means a flawless final, but Sunday's showdown between Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer brought an appropriate end to what was a thrilling fortnight at the BNP Paribas Open.

Thursday at the BNP Paribas Open lacked a little bit of luster. But think of it as a calm before the storm. Andy Murray destroyed Feliciano Lopez (what's new?), and despite the lopsidedness it was still the most competitive singles match of the afternoon.

It took a pair of top 10 players to send Donald Young Jr. and Steve Johnson packing from the BNP Paribas Open. Two of the four American men to reach the third round in Indian Wells, Young and Johnson suffered respective losses to Rafael Nadal and Tomas Berdych on Tuesday.
In press conference, after Timea Bacsinszky had won her 15th consecutive match by beating Elina Svitolina 6-4, 1-6, 6-1, Mary Carillo ask the question and we got the answer. It was a long one and not always pretty to hear.
