Roger Federer is one of only three players in the Open Era (since 1968) to win at least 1,000 singles matches on the ATP World Tour, the first since Ivan Lendl in 1992. He joins Jimmy Connors as the only players to accomplish the feat.

It may not be quite Derek Jeter getting his 3,000th hit in the form of a home run, but Roger Federer accomplished another feat of his own in a fashion befitting of Federer's legendary career. The 33-year-old Swiss earned his 1,000th match victory by winning the Brisbane International title on Sunday. He held off a hard-charging Milos Raonic 6-3, 6-7(4), 6-2 in two hours and 13 minutes.

Roger Federer thrashed Grigor Dimitrov 6-2, 6-2 in the semifinals of the Brisbane International on Saturday, one day after destroying James Duckworth 6-0, 6-1. That means Federer is through to a second consecutive Brisbane final and has a chance to capture his first title at this event.
