It may not be quite Derek Jeter getting his 3,000th hit in the form of a home run, but Roger Federer accomplished another feat of his own in a fashion befitting of Federer's legendary career. The 33-year-old Swiss earned his 1,000th match victory by winning the Brisbane International title on Sunday. He held off a hard-charging Milos Raonic 6-3, 6-7(4), 6-2 in two hours and 13 minutes.

In 2014, we welcomed three first-time participants to the World Tour Finals--Kei Nishikori, Marin Cilic, and Milos Raonic. Will we see something similar in 2015, perhaps from Grigor Dimitrov? Or will Rafael Nadal and Juan Martin Del Potro manage to stay healthy and restore order to the London lineup?
Aloha and Mahalo. There's nothing like the north shore of Oahu. Especially during the Triple crown. Or even better the "Eddie" ... BIG Waves ... This has always been a favorite pit stop on the way to Australia. Whether we are coming from east coast / west coast it just helps in length of flight and jet lag.
Canadian tennis star Milos Raonic set three main goals at the start of the 2014 season. He wanted to reach the top six in the world rankings, go deeper in Grand Slam events and qualify for the ATP Finals. Raonic hit all those targets over a campaign highlighted by a semifinal appearance at Wimbledon and his first World Tour 500-level event victory.
World No. 1 Novak Djokovic and No. 8 Milos Raonic have been preparing for the 2015 ATP World Tour season at the annual ATP Training Camp in Monte-Carlo. Held every December since the 1990s, the ATP Training Camp gives players the chance to practise in the mild Monaco weather on the newly resurfaced hard courts of the Monte-Carlo Country Club...
Tennis Canada announced Friday the male recipients of the 2014 Tennis Canada Excellence Awards. Milos Raonic (Thornhill, Ont.) has been named Birks Male Player of the Year for the fourth consecutive time. Continuing to grow as an athlete every year, Raonic took the next step in 2014 by making his maiden Grand Slam semifinal, qualifying for the season-ending ATP World Tour Finals, and solidifying his place in the Top 10.
CANADIANS IN ACTION THIS WEEK A look at the key events for the week of December 1st December 1
Singles matches were not always the most dramatic at this week's World Tour Finals, but players delivered the goods in the press room (including Novak Djokovic's traditional handing out of chocolates) on a consistent basis. With the tournament over, let's enjoy some of the most memorable quotes from the press conferences.
David Ferrer put in the hard yards for four days at the World Tour Finals. Every day, he fulfilled the requirements of an alternate by being on site prior to each singles match--two on Sunday, two on Monday, two on Tuesday, and another two on Wednesday. That's what an alternate has to do in case one--or both--of the scheduled participants suddenly pulls out.
If you can forgive us a moment to revel in the first three-set match when super-sub David Ferrer stepped in for an injured Milos Raonic to give Kei Nishikori a workout, we arrive at the last of the round robins, as the Group A boys being what feels like the first week of a Grand Slam to a close.
If the London faithful got to choose, both Roger Federer and Andy Murray would be a part of Saturday's semifinals. And that still is a possibility even though the two fan favorites have to face each other on Thursday night at the World Tour Finals. Federer will already be through even before he takes the court if Kei Nishikori fails to beat Milos Raonic in straight sets.

Earlier in the week an Italian journalist went on a routine of asking all the players which one of the other players they’d most like to have dinner with and what question they’d ask that player. Four — Nishikori, Cilic, Raonic, and Wawrinka — chose Roger Federer, for differing reasons.
