Hi Guys. Austin checking in after another day at Indian Wells. Today was quite the day. It started out with an early practice with a friend of mine. Although it's great to be playing with some of these big time players, it felt good to have a solid training session on my own terms.
The BNP Paribas Open harbors a little secret many friends of tennis slip past after entering the Indian Wells Tennis Garden. I encourage you to stop for a minute and look to your left when entering from the West Gate. You’ll notice a pink band wrapping around a large and round deep green mound.
There are many surprises here at the BNP Paribas Open, in Indian Wells. Of the surprises one particularly tickled my palate—Lunch. Walking to and fro, from the media room located on the second level of the Indian Wells Tennis Garden, I spotted several people down below with tall white hats, and chef’s coats. I began thinking about buffet food, and the distinct mass produced flavor it has, and almost lost my appetite.
18 year old American Dennis Novikov advanced into the Men's draws at Indian Wells after winning the Pre-qualifying tournament. Novikov is a bit of a mysterious competitor having recently competed in San Jose. But like many of the greats they all start out young with little known about them until they kick a top players butt!
American teenager Madison Keys, from Rock Island, Illinois won the Indian Wells Pre-qualifying tournament! By the age of fifteen Keys advanced to the second round of the 2010 US Open. We're sure to see much more from Keys!
