World No. 5 David Ferrer secured defending champion Spain’s place in the Davis Cup semi-finals on Sunday as he defeated Austria’s Jurgen Melzer 7-5, 6-3, 6-3 to give the host nation a 3-1 lead. The Spanish Tennis Federation (RFET) has selected the tourist resort of Marina d’Or in Oropesa del Mar, Castellon as the venue for the Davis Cup by BNP Paribas quarterfinal tie between Spain and Austria that will take place on 6-8 April.
