Donald Young booked a spot in his fourth career ATP semifinal and he is one win from a second appearance in a title match after beating Bernard Tomic 7-6(8), 4-6, 7-5 on Friday afternoon at the Memphis Open. The American prevailed after two hours and 14 minutes of back-and-forth momentum swings.

A high-quality battle in the second round of the ABN AMRO World Tennis Tournament on Thursday saw Stan Wawrinka overcome familiar foe Guillermo Garcia-Lopez 6-7(2), 6-4, 6-2. Wawrinka fired eight aces without double-faulting as he advanced in two hours and 15 minutes.
World No. 4 Andy Murray avoided going the distance against Vasek Pospisil on Thursday in Rotterdam, reeling off the final four games of the second-round contest to prevail 6-3, 7-5 at the ABN AMRO World Tennis Tournament.
This wasn't a particularly long match -- about an hour and forty minutes, and it would have been shorter had Stan Wawrinka not fired multiple lets on match points -- but if Wawrinka wants to get his ranking back up, he'll need to do better than this. He still needs at least three more wins to rise above his current #8.

The Canadian second seed needed a comeback after losing the opening set to the No. 88 before taking control in the second set and keeping up the pressure in the third to book into the second round.
