What a day it was! With a ton of matches and some rain delays in between! Not to forget all of the practise sessions for those players that were not on the schedule for the first day.
The Sunday normally is not to busy because most players have 1 session before the tournament starts the next day however if you have as many players as I do it is a challenging day of making sure the nerves and expectations are met an settled.
We are on Thursday before the Open and now the real deal starts and the last thing you want is a day that makes it even more challenging than it already is for so many people!
These are the days that the total magic is going to happen! Over the next 5 to 7 days it will be a mad house as all players and their teams arrive in NY and when I have to juggle many players and their schedules!
This is Day 3 for me but Day 1 for the US Open qualifying event. On my arrival this morning it was a different energy already.
You would think a week before the open starts things are very quite and easy going.
Visiting the site today for some practices and catching up with a multiple of people I found these very interesting subjects! The court cross section of the US Open gives you the detail of which over the next 3 weeks the world of tennis will be playing and millions of people watching.
Since I am taking you in this journey I might as well tell you what my day looks like when you are not on court and you have to travel from one town to the next!
Day 9 started very early after coming back very late from the match and booking the court! As I am writing this blog it is even later now and it is 1 AM.
I believe it was Day 8 (Thursday) but I do know it was a perfect day of tennis in Cincinnati again. A nice cool breeze and the sun shining bright!
Day 7 Wednesday of the tournament and the dynamics of the days are changing! Players have left for the next event and some of them stay around for 2 practise sessions a day!
Lets Call Day 6 Tuesday because for some reason the numbers are confusing me now since I am at the tournament for almost a week!
The days are starting to pile up and they seem to fade into each other as it is very hot humid and extremely packed with practices and matches.
Day 4 turned out be a very hot day and I know in The Netherlands many people are suffering from the heat this summer!
On day 3 it was a juggling and balancing act again. Luckily no rain because rain is a pain when you are working with 5 different girls at one time.
