Williams Is Top Women’s Seed At US Open

The USTA announced that world No. 1 and defending champion Serena Williams has been named the top seed in women’s singles at the 2013 US Open.

 

Following Williams will be No. 2 seed Victoria Azarenka of Belarus, the reigning Australian Open champion and runner-up to Williams last year at the US Open; No. 3 seed Maria Sharapova of Russia, who has completed the career Grand Slam last year by winning the French Open; and No. 4 seed Agnieszka Radwanska of Poland, who reached the semifinals of Wimbledon this year.
