WASHINGTON – July 23, 2013 – On Sunday, the Washington Kastles defeated the Boston Lobsters 19-18 to secure the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference for the upcoming Mylan WTT Playoffs. Washington will host the Eastern Conference Championship match this Thursday at 7 p.m. at Kastles Stadium at The Wharf.
The Kastles’ third straight postseason appearance is the latest milestone for the team during its historic 2013 season. In their season opener, Washington defeated the New York Sportimes to tie the record for the longest winning streak in major U.S. pro sports history. Then, on July 9 against the Lobsters, the Kastles won their 34th straight match to break the record previously held by the 1971-72 Los Angeles Lakers.
If the Kastles win the Eastern Conference Championship on Thursday, they will host the Mylan WTT Finals on the Southwest Waterfront this Sunday at 5 p.m.
“We’ve had another great run this season,” said Mark Ein, owner of the Washington Kastles. “And we are excited that we will be playing once again for the King Trophy in front of our amazing Washington, D.C. fans.”
Tickets to the Mylan WTT Playoffs are now on sale through Ticketmaster, with Grandstands priced at $15 each and Chairbacks at $35.
There are also a limited number of four-seat Dinner Tables ($500), Premier Courtside Boxes ($250) and Kastles Boxes ($100) available on both nights. The only way to purchase tables and boxes is by contacting Kastles ticket representative John Coleman at 202-654-7047 or john@washingtonkastles.com.
The first five Kastles home matches of the regular season were sellouts, and there are a limited number of seats still available for home matches on Monday and Wednesday night leading up to the playoffs.
