Recently retired star and new Cashiers homeowner Andy Roddick will play Davis Cup captain Jim Courier in The United Community Bank Mountain Challenge on Saturday, July 27, at Cedar Creek Racquet Club in Cashiers, North Carolina.

Roddick s wife, model Brooklyn Decker, is from the area.

The Cashiers Area Chamber of Commerce in cooperation with McKee Properties will host the event with proceeds benefitting the new non-profit organization Mountain Youth Charities.

The event will also include two preliminary matches. The first is a battle between top-ranked juniors Thai Kwiatkowski of Charlotte, NC and Kory Lovett of Brevard, NC and the second is a doubles match pairing the winners of a local pro-am versus Roddick & Courier.

A gala dinner will be held on Friday, July 26 hosted by Roddick and Courier. This will be held in Cashiers at Lonesome Valley s famed restaurant Canyon Kitchen.
