Lovey’s Last Lob Of 2016

2016 is within hours of ending. For some of us “Down Under” we’ve celebrated and celebrated. And it’s already tomorrow. To our friends on each and every Continent. Happy New Year!

Wow. What a year. It’s finishing with the announcement of “Tennis Goddess” Ana Ivanovic’s retirement. She had a beautiful summer marriage to Basti…. She is 29. Good timing. She won the French Open back in 2008 Being coached by Master Coach and all around great guy Sven Groeneveld.

“VIKA” Victoria Azeranka has Just had her First baby.

And Serena announcing her engagement… and Drumroll…

Andy Murray Is going to be a Knight! Wow! That doesn’t happen every day…

And whose VIKA baby’s daddy?

And it’s nice to see everybody embracing the return of the great Roger Federer. He was missed by all. He had over 5,000 people watching him practice in Perth. His periscope was totally awesome. He is such a fun guy to have at the top of our sport.

Thank you again Lynette and Robbie for my Roger Federer Foundation calendar. Order yours now. Robbie did a great job choosing the photos again. Tennis Warehouse is selling them and RF tote bags and RF notebooks. All fabulous. All for his foundation.

“RAFA” RAFAEL Nadal Is back with a some trans placed hair. He looks great. He has added Carlos Moya to his coaching team. Did I say he looks great.

Personally. I like the cotton headbands versus all this “wick away ” mystery fabrics. Just saying. Cotton. Cotton. Cotton.

We had some great trips this year. The team from 10sBalls were all globetrotters this year. Yes, Alejandro fell in love with London and Queens Club. He also got used to the heat of Indian Wells.

Ricky Dimon went everywhere practically. London twice. And cincy, MIAMI, DC. …

Frankie was travelling all the time too. He and Daisy were at the French, the grass, WIMBLEDON and finally even found Roehampton.

Dusan Vemic

Me, I went to too many places to name. But favorite is still Monte Carlo. We love the new restaurant Eqvita that Novak Djokovic opened. Dusan Vemic took us there. It’s all healthy and gluten free.

Even ole pro PB made some rounds. She was a regular every night at Nobu during BNP Paribas.

We Loved To see Lisa Stone of “Parenting Aces” pull off her “SOL” tourney. Watch out she had more planned for 2017!

We say goodbye to our buddy GARDNAR Mulloy.

And we send a special blessing to our friend “SIR”. To know the man was such a highlight of my very full life.

Ted Braithwaite had the patience and tolerance of Nelson Mandela. He truly did. He was a tennis friend folks. You can meet the most unbelievable peeps via the game.

We say good bye to our dear friend Bud COLLINS Who once called me a walking tennis encyclopedia…. I’m flattered. And to top it off we were assigned his desk at the MIAMI open.

We wish all of our tennis friends and family a Happy New Year! We hope 2017 brings world peace.

The only way to describe this U.S. open is soaking wet without raining... It's really hard to play tennis when your socks are soaking wet and you are "sloshing" in your shoes. Your shoes get really heavy when they get wet.
