Launches March 13th at www.youtube.com/headtennis
13 March 2012 – A new short film created by Andy’s racquet partner HEAD Tennis, launching on YouTube on March 13th, features Britain’s best-known tennis star and the current World Number Four dreaming of what life might have been like, had he not pursued a tennis career.
The mini film sets the scene at a fictional press conference when a journalist question inspires Andy to daydream a series of creative new career paths had things not worked out on the court. With a slapstick theme, pantomime-style music and on-screen animation, viewers get the chance to see Andy trying out hairdressing skills, cooking up a storm in the kitchen and fronting a new rock band – Andy and The Radicals!
As to be expected, Andy just can’t seem to keep his creative tennis skills out of these new jobs and inevitably, disastrous results unfold. His choice of hairstyle for one poor customer has distinct similarities with a fluffy yellow tennis ball and he can’t stop himself using frying pans as racquets and tomatoes as balls in the kitchen. It proves there’s only one job for Andy – a pro tennis player – and one racquet for Andy the Head YouTek™ IG Radical Pro.
As Andy readily admits: “If I’m honest, my singing isn’t great. The one thing I might be ok at is cooking. I say cooking…, it’s more like heating pasta sauce but I’m enthusiastic if that counts for anything!”
The new Head campaign invites consumers to switch their jobs for a day and win the chance to experience the life of a tennis professional in the company of Andy Murray. The competition is hosted exclusively on the Head Facebook site www.facebook.com/headtennis.
