Stella Update. Oops. Old habit. Queens. I’d call it Aegon but there’s like six of those…

This just in from Aegon Classic in Birmingham (see what I mean)… Blondie beat the Brunette. What?…. Daniela Hantuchova beat Ana “The Goddess” Ivanovic 6-7,6-3,6-2 …. My comment was in reference to something you don’t see very often. Two beautiful chicks in the semi-finals on grass wearing the same dress. Yup. Same Adidas clothes. Both in pink dresses. Both with ponytails and white visors. Both white shoes. Both green knickers. The only difference was Ana had on a green wristband and Daniela had a pink one. Very unusual to see Ana in the same dress….  Also she kept tugging at it as if was a wee bit too small. She looks fit. The dress looks snug.

Queens: Andy Murray hammered the other Andy 6-3,6-1. Jo- Willie Beat James Ward 6-3,7-6 (7). Ward had a big lead in the second set. But Tsonga fought hard. To tie it up to 4-4 … Jo – Willi served up 14 aces and was diving on the grass left and right. Ward had a great run. An unreal week! Beat some great players. As soon as I saw him wearing FILA. I had an “Ah Ha Moment”…. if a player is wearing Fila it means Martin hand picked him and he is good.

Mahesh Bhupathi and Leander Paes beat Max Mirnyi and Daniel Nestor …6-7(7) 7-6(6), and 10-8 in the third none set. So it was a Breaker. A Breaker. A Heartbreaker. What I call a poor excuse for a third set. The suits really screwed up doubles. College tennis used a no ad system and removed it because they found luck factored in too much.

Big congrats to the Indian duo. Most likely playing the Bryan Bros on Sunday. Forecast is for rain. The tourney has had some delays already. Some players and dubs teams are playing two rounds a day to catch up.

The only way to describe this U.S. open is soaking wet without raining... It's really hard to play tennis when your socks are soaking wet and you are "sloshing" in your shoes. Your shoes get really heavy when they get wet.
