The golden age of tennis… Roger Federer. Rafael Nadal… All the tennis gods and goddesses. Almost too many to list, but gotta say Caroline Wozniaki, Ana Ivanovic and Sorana Cirstea…I could keep going for an hour… All the great male players. The Andy’s. We would love to see Andy Murray win Wimbledon. We have the Fernando’s. Oh that Verdasco and Gonzales. I cant even get started with the depth in the men’s singles and doubles… it has never been stronger! Tennis has some of the smartest most talented athletes in all sports.

Now Venus Williams. We wish you a full speedy recovery…. but we are not certain in all the years we’ve followed the sport that we have seen a player just play the four slams…? No tourneys in between? No warm-up events? Larson mentioned it. He was first to notice… Then Pam Shriver brought it up. …. You treat slams like an ego or cameo appearance…

The only way to describe this U.S. open is soaking wet without raining... It's really hard to play tennis when your socks are soaking wet and you are "sloshing" in your shoes. Your shoes get really heavy when they get wet.
