Sven’s blog. Hello loyal followers and new viewers to the site. If you haven’t read Sven’s blogs you’re missing out…

Sven Groeneveld is giving us the insider’s view of what it means to be part of the team working with the WTA world’s number one player Caroline Wozniaki. As if that weren’t enough to keep one busy, he has shared with us the victories of all the thoroughbreds currently in the Adidas program. He, Mats Merkle, and Floris Minnaert had three players with first round matches yesterday… Maria Kirilenko won!  Ayumi Morita  won! And Sorana Cristea won!

Sven tells us his day started at 9:45. No way… It started no later than 6:45 am. Shower. Coffee. Inhaling some breakfast. Fresh orange juice.  Planning. Organizing. And traveling to site. Arriving way ahead of time to secure that every detail is in order. 10sballs.com is blessed to have the insider’s view.
I’m looking over the home page, notes, results, misc. Observations on my part: I was sorry to see Ana Ivanovic leave in the first round. Ouch. She looked so beautiful in her purple dress with green trim. Nice design. We are living in the golden age of tennis. Gods and goddesses all around us… Caroline do you have a nail polish sponsor? You should… your nails always look beautiful. As do you!

10sballs.com loves Andy Murray (even before the Brit chicks joined up), he looked so handsome in his Adidas green shirt with black shorts and matching green trim. A lot of players like the black shorts since they show the perspiration less…

Big shout out and congrats to Alicia Molik and Elena Baltachta. Two more favs that won first round matches.

Sorry to see Donald Young junior lose. Sorry DY… He did a great job fighting his way thru the qualies…

Justin Gimbel finally got a great haircut to go with the suits and shoes. The “fro” doesn’t work for TV… the ESPN guys yack and yack. Come on guys. Let us enjoy the match. Your over commentating. Last night had to turn sound off….

Last point for today. TV audience loves injury time outs. We love to see the trainers fix up the players. Patch them up and play continues. As a super fan of the sport: if I’m in the stands, I also never mind an injury time out. It’s time to stretch. Or take a Loo break. Or make a phone call. So TV producers listen up. Injury time outs are good for the sport…. Even for cramping. Anyone can cramp given the right circumstances. I’ve been with players in the middle of the night in E.R. in hospitals trying to rehydrate a player with I.V. Or lower a core temperature in an overheated body. Cramps are serious. I’ve seen players go delirious.

Tennis players are performing at a high level nonstop for two to five hours at a grand slam. That’s a longtime even to be a spectator. Imagine being the player on court, which is always at least ten degrees Fahrenheit hotter…

The only way to describe this U.S. open is soaking wet without raining... It's really hard to play tennis when your socks are soaking wet and you are "sloshing" in your shoes. Your shoes get really heavy when they get wet.
