I have been an ardent Roger Federer fan from the first day I saw him play at Wimbledon one beautiful summer years ago. I have followed his career with great interest through all his victories and defeats since that time.
It was a fitting end to an unforgettable Australian Open. It was so good, in fact, that the champion said during the trophy ceremony that he would have been happy if it had ended in a draw--or even a loss.
