Yes, it’s my Birthday! I guess maybe if you are born on February 14 you might end up being named or called LOVEY. And with a last name like Jergens you better have soft skin that’s not dry. “The skin you love to touch”…. (Old ad campaign)

Ok. We are done with the nonsense. But thanks to the editor for letting me ramble.

But then again WIMBLEDON has hired a company to make a “slogan” for Wimbledon? It’s true. What’s next a “jingle” ? We guess they want to market the tennis event year round instead of just a fortnight? At first we laughed at the thought. We haven’t given it much thought since, but we will. But it seems odd and a bit greedy? As RAFA might say – No?

Lots going on in tennis. Lots.

Old buddy Marcos Ondruska has relocated from Hilton Head to Atlanta. And to top that off he is the new Davis Cup Captain for South Africa. Big congrats to “Drussy.”

What’s with VIKA and her new pose after a match?… Looks a bit like Usain Bolt. Just saying…

What’s with Nick Krygios…. is his idol Dennis Rodman?

Kobe Bryant is coming to the end of his basketball career. It makes me wonder what if he had chosen tennis ? He might have. He was very good at it. The late great Gussy Moran coached him as a little kid.Who would he be pals with?Federer for sure. Rafa probably. Would he play serve and volley? Would he have majors? How many? Would tennis be more popular ? Who would Kobe have played doubles with? Mixed doubles? I’m so tired of seeing empty stadiums… Just been giving it some thought. For sure more inner city kids would be playing tennis. Kobe could have made it cool. Cooler.

Who did Roger Federer ball boy for? Got to remember to ask the Federer team or Roger next time we see him. Will we see him playing in Indian Wells? We think very iffy…. If we were him we’d fly in to do our Nike commercial and other sponsor obligations. But we would not play on those abrasive courts. Too much sand in top coat. Why possibly tear up a newly fixed knee. How did it happen anyway. And which knee is it?

Benito. Where are you with the name game? Is it Pablo Carreno? Or is it Pablo Carreno Busta?

Is Ana Ivanovic engaged to Bastion?

Is Anna Kournakova gonna come back to the WTA tour and play some doubles ? It would be great for the sport. You’ve been missed. Look at Hingis!

Is Nicole Vaidisova back with her ex hubby again? Radek Stepanek?

Serena has been busy selling really nice basic casual clothes on Home Shopping Network. (HSN) And she has been building homes in Jamaica. No I did not make that up? Does she play in a wig? Just curious…..

We are thrilled about Roger Federer’s “LAVER CUP” fantastic idea. Fantastic tribute.

The only way to describe this U.S. open is soaking wet without raining... It's really hard to play tennis when your socks are soaking wet and you are "sloshing" in your shoes. Your shoes get really heavy when they get wet.
