Wimbledon 2015 is almost over. The team from 10sBalls_com is all packed up. Most are asleep already. I’m just tying up loose ends. We’ve been in the United Kingdom since June 10. In a few hours it will all be in the record books.
We’ve been everywhere but Eastbourne. We hit our absolute favorite which is Queens Club. From there we “trained it up to Nottingham” to give Mr. Nino Severino the Gussy Moran Humanitarian Award to his late wife the ever inspiring Elena ‘Bally’ Baltacha Severino. We had a great awards ceremony and from this point on The Nottingham Tourney also named the winners trophy the ‘Bally.’ It was a hard day for Nino but he braved thru it. Elena was truly an amazing young lady. Gone from us too soon at 30.
We didn’t see Robin Hood or Sherwood Forest or Maid Marion. We did an overnight and then we headed back to London. We went straight back to Queens. Then to Boodles at Stoke Park. Then Birmingham. Then Hurlingham, and Roehampton for Wimbledon qualies and finally to Wimbledon. Yikes.
We are exhausted but we couldn’t have had a better trip. We loved all of it. Why are we writing this wrap tonite. Well a few reasons. One is we head to Various locations tomorrow after the men’s final and yes, we are happy now. Tomorrow we may run a 50/ 50 chance of being happy.
There’s one guy we really, really, really want to win. Not saying who but anyone that reads this site knows who. The weather could see the Wimbledon roof to be closed. We were at party after party. Hence my disappearance. That and the players box hopping and final 8 clubs and Boodles and Hurlingham can be distracting.
Loved hanging with some of our old gang both Krajiceks. Richard and MICHAELLA. Rob Koenig and Greg Rusedski. Xavier Malisse and Dusan Vemic and Bethanie Mattek Sands and the Mirnyi Brothers, Peter and Max the ‘Beast’ Mirnyi. And that’s just naming a few ….
We hung with the Belgians and the Belarussians. Donald Young and his coach / mom Illona. . We dined with team U.N. which includes our main man Sven Groeneveld. We really put in long, long days. We were going 12-18 hours every day. The Dog and the Fox factored in a few nights as did the bar at the Conrad on Chelsea Harbor and the London Eye and… Well I’ll stop there.
We must say we can only “hope” tomorrow. We hope the let cords go our way and we see a great Gentleman’s finals. All of our fingers are crossed and RF owes it to the whole country of England for taking out Andy Murray.
Congrats to all the players. Ball Kids, Support teams. Press officers. Epa photographers. Francisco for always being on top of everything. Alex for Being our rock… Even Global Chick stayed focused. Gee that was a big surprise.
We did not hang with the “chief “, “the Big Cheese “, the General… That would be Ille Nastase. So… What was up with that?
