Ok it’s old news now but :

* How funny when Bethanie Mattek -Sands is calling Caroline Wozniacki out for what color is your hair? Was it red was it pink? It didn’t help Rory McIlroy much.We hear their wedding is planned to be in NYC in November. A hard invite.

* Great that Rafa’s buddy Freddy Couples had a good tourney. Great to see Rafael Nadal playing in the poker game. He needs to keep some shades on ? Poker face, no ? No.

* We knew Mirka Federer was BiG . We still are guessing twins and it sounds like they are coming soon. Clay court babies? Maybe during the French open? Hope that’s right and that see Roger back on the lawns of Wimbledon.

* Amazing that other than the Bryan brothers there were no Americans in the singles main draw or qualies. Sad. Booty was only other American and again a dubs specialist. You know the kind John Mac wants To go away because they serve no purpose ?

* The Mats Wilander foundation charity event for Debra is scheduled for Wednesday August 27th , for it’s second annual event to be held @the old home of the US Open. Forest Hills or officially Westside Tennis Club on the grass.

* Heard Red Foo is playing in Ojai next week. That’s awesome and he is awesome. Although it is odd chatting with someone wearing glasses with no lenses. It feels like being a little kid and playing dress up. His clothes have the same look. Foo hits a lot with great L.A.Pro Lester Cook. Gavin Rossdale loves hitting with Lester too. Right now Les is the guy. He is super. Los Angeles is loaded with great ex ATP pros and teaching pros. Craig Cignarelli. Lester. Grant Chen. The list just goes on and on. Then there’s the out of work actors that have hoppers of balls and look good in tennis clothes. Happy to see Ryan Sweeting with Kaley Cuoco in Calabasas. Great for the game to go mainstream. We always need the cross over.

*Great to see Maria Sharapova endorsing a sun screen product. Finally sunscreen and tennis. What an interesting concept joining those two things. Tennis /sunscreen. ATP and WTA and USTA all snoozing. Bravo Maria. Smart girl. Tennis and sunscreen are a no brainer. But so are so many products.

* Tennis in Monte Carlo looks like tennis in heaven. That main court. Wow. The Bryan brothers had dinner with prince Albert.

*The ladies are all getting ready for Fed cup. It was great to see Canada offering the public to watch the practice for free.

* Please read Gardnar Mulloy letter to the editor. It’s an oldie but a goodie just like Gar himself @100 years old. A lifetime of drinking milk and being a vegetarian. As well as a really great humanitarian. A human rights activist. Animal rights activist. Navy war hero. I could go on for days. Gardnar received our highest award the Gussy Moran humanatarian award this past November.

The only way to describe this U.S. open is soaking wet without raining... It's really hard to play tennis when your socks are soaking wet and you are "sloshing" in your shoes. Your shoes get really heavy when they get wet.
