World TeamTennis has released a statement confirming that it has cancelled the establishment of a team in Las Vegas, which comes after the assets of the team owner were seized by a court.

“We are disappointed that we won’t be able to bring the excitement and energy of Mylan WTT to Las Vegas,” said CEO Ilana Kloss, adding that the city remained a “potential market.”

The mayor of Las Vegas, said it would welcome another opportunity, “not only because we are one of the most exciting cities in the world, but also because we have a top-flight public tennis center that is the perfect home for a professional tennis team.”

The owner of the team, which was previously the Sacramento Capitals, has been arrested on fraud charges and has been sued by investors.
