It’s often been said of Melbourne that you can see all four seasons in the same day. Not anymore. So far all we have seen is serious summer and it’s a scorcher. Hot. Hotter and consistently hot. Day and night. But …. Yup we are going to see a huge change come Saturday.
Wednesdays is still hot. Thursday is going to be hot 41 c / and or 106 F. Friday 42celcious and 108 degrees Fahrenheit. And Saturday cloudy and 20 c / or 68 degrees Fahrenheit. Sunday the same forecast. And Monday 26/ 79. Brr . It’s going to feel almost nippy.
Great to see Sam Querrey wearing FILA. He looks super in it. He sure has changed clothes a heap but knowing Marty Mulligan he is set thru his career now ! Awesome to see the handsome talented cancer survivor Ross Hutchins win his first round doubles match with his partner Colin Fleming. The scores don’t matter. What matters is the kid beat cancer and is back living his dreams.
Sorry to see Bernie give such little effort to stay on the court with Rafa. Know how many matches Roger Federer didn’t finish and retired. That number would be zero.
Sorry to see Bethanie isn’t playing doubles. She is such a fun and free spirit to have around any event. We were happy to see Sven and Maria have a great start. One wins one loses. That’s tennis. No mention of attendance records. I think the only recorded are the heat. I am curious if the beer consumption is up ? It is Australia… Global warming ? All I know is it’s the first time in history the players are loving the ice baths.
