Great news. Roger Federer is in the finals in his hometown of Basel for the 10th. Time. How cool is that. From ball kid to the best ever all in Basel. And speaking of RF his part time Coach Gavin Rossdale is in Beverly Hills 90210 going to opening nights. He and the beautiful Gwen Stefani have baby number 3 on the way. They are a dynamic couple that makes great looking kids. Yes they all dress in a ” rockers family style”. Some might call it odd or costumes or outfits or ensembles more than just clothes .

Asics tennis was thrilled that one of their star players was in the semis in Switzerland. . That’s the up and coming Vasek Pospisil . The kid wears both the awesome shoes and clothes. Everyone that has ever owned a pair or Asics running shoes knows they are simply the best. In a league of their own. Roger won the first set. Lost the second and squeaked out the third. The scores were 6-3,6-7 (3) , 7-5. . Next week in the Paris masters Vasek plays Gael Monfils in the first round. Roger plays the winner of Anderson and Youzhny.

Sure glad to hear that next years WTA championships will have eight teams in the finals of the ladies doubles up from four. Four wasn’t fair. Eight is like the ATP. Finally Stacey.

The BNP Paribas in Indian wells is ahead of schedule on the new Stadium 2. Hopefully someday they might name their stadiums. Larry Ellison saved the day when he flew in on his white Gulf Stream. It was equivalent to a white stallion. He is our knight in shining armour . Thanks Larry and hawk eye on every match court. We applaud you. Your love and passion for tennis it is unequaled. ( Ray Moore thanks for sticking it out. )

We’ve seen sneak photos of the BNP Paribas Paris players lounge. Nice. Really nice. Elegant and sleek. Ditto for the players restaurant. Open and light feels. Hope there’s enough monitors computers and couches. This years race in both singles and doubles are really down to the wire exciting. The year end ATP masters starts November 4 in the 02 arena. The event is first class and its over the top. Barclays really is an amazing title sponsor. Tennis is so blessed to have some awesome sponsors. Barclays. Aegon. BNP Paribas to name a few.

Great to see Nicolas Monroe got into the doubles in the Paris Open . It’s his first master series event , he is playing with big John Isner. Good luck to a really super guy that never stopped believing in himself.

Tennis court announcer / commentator / interviewer Andrew Krasny doing a fantastic job in Istanbul. He is one of the hardest working guys in tennis. His wit and humor and sense of the players games and personalities make him the best on court host in history. The players all adore him.

Tennis great Gardnar Mulloy turns 100 in November ! That’s a beautiful thing. The man is a lifelong friend of tennis. He lives right. He eats right ( vegetarian ) He lives by the golden rule. He has been a lifelong animal rights activist , a war hero , a lawyer , a coach , a handsome dashing sportsman that epitomized all that is good. We salute Gar on his century mark. He was Hollywood handsome . And still looks great with a full head of white hair.

We are also pleased to announce that Gardnar will be the recipient of the second Gussy Moran humanitarian award.( they were dear friends for a lifetime ) Without Gar we would have never had Pancho Segura . Some other facts about him include tea with the queen of England twice. Played tennis with King Gustav of Sweden. He Has more U.S. national titles than any other man (129) .

He was ranked number 1 and played in 7 Davis cup ties . ( All the stats were pulled from his last book on tennis called. “As It Was ” )
