Lindsay Davenport Hall of Famer ! Southern California Tennis has some BIG stars entering their Hall of Fame on Sunday September 22. Lindsay and her brother in law the great player from USC Ricky Leach . Ricky played some great singles but over the years his biggest titles came in doubles. One of our favorite guys and a guardian of the game Vic Braden enters the Hall. Who is this nominating committee ? How did it take this long to induct Vic Braden ?.. Yikes. I’m glad I have no aspirations or hopes …. Oops I almost forgot. Michael Chang and Gil Shea and Kathy Willette .

Last night on Watch What Happens Live with host Andy Cohen in NYC. We saw two white rackets and the U S Open trophies. How awesome. We love it whenever tennis crosses over to mainstream. The countdown to the US Open really started for us now, bags are packed.

Great that Sir Richard Branson is hosting his event :Necker Cup Pro -Am on his Necker Island again. Great the big names he attracts. He has RAFA ! We know Deb is going to be there ,hopefully representing the site. He has Ana Ivanovic , the amazing and sorely missed in our sport Stefan Edberg. Martina Navratilova. And heaps more will hop to the private island. Word spread fast last year that everyone had an amaze balls time. The players got rest , fun , great camaraderie and great practice. Throw in food and laundry service and they are very happy. But for real this event has motivational talks by Richard Branson himself. Everyone loved his seminars. Watch out Tony Robbins.

One of the great pre USOpen events is the annual BNP Paribas Taste of Tennis. This year it’s set for August 22 at the W hotel in NYC. The hostess this year is Serena Williams.
