Singles – Second Round: (1) N Djokovic def. G Pella 6-2 6-0 6-2

It was another day of rain delays, but Novak Djokovic did his best to speed up the schedule….

Singles – Second Round: (13) K Nishikori def. G Zemlja 6-1 5-7 6-1 6-4

Funny to realize that Kei Nishikori has a Top Ten chance here. He’s #12 in safe points. But he’ll need more — and this is clay….

Singles – Second Round: (16) P Kohlschreiber def. Y Lu Walkover

Yen-Hsun Lu had hurt himself in doubles the day before, so this wasn’t too surprising. Philipp Kohlschreiber adds a few points, but he hasn’t really moved yet.

Singles – Second Round: (24) B Paire def. L Kubot 7-6(7-2) 6-2 6-4

Benoit Paire got out just before the final rain — and, for the moment, this puts him in the Top 25 in safe points, although he hasn’t clinched the ranking yet.

Singles – Second Round: (26) G Dimitrov def. L Pouille 6-1 7-6(7-4) 6-1

Grigor Dimitrov seems to be racing ahead here — he was the first player to finish a complete match — but, so far, he hasn’t moved in the rankings.

Singles – Second Round: (27) F Fognini def. L Rosol 6-2 7-6(7-3) 2-6 6-1

One of the toughest matches of the round, since Lukas Rosol just missed seeding. He will stay around #35; Fabio Fognini defends his points and should stay around #30.

Singles – Second Round: V Hanescu def. D Tursunov 6-4 6-6, retired

This is the no-one-finished-a-match part of the draw; Victor Hanescu faces Kohlschreiber next. Dmitry Tursunov stays stuck around #60.

Doubles – First Round: F Lopez/Sa def. (10) Fleming/Marray 7-6(7-4) 6-7(3-7) 7-5

Jonathan Marray had a chance to make the Top Fifteen here, but it doesn’t seem likely now. He’s likely to fall hard after Wimbledon.

Doubles – First Round: Bautista Agut/Gimeno-Traver def. Olivetti/Texeita 6-4 6-2

Doubles – First Round: Huey/Inglot def. Kamke/F Mayer 7-6(7-5) 6-4

Mixed Doubles – First Round: Petrova/Cabal def. Minella/Peya 6-4 7-5

Interesting that Nadia Petrova — who has a chance at #1 this week — didn’t pick out a stronger Mixed partner. But things are working for her so far.
