Facebook fans have the chance to help Roger Federer chose his footwear for the Australian Open, with an online vote set to determine which colour scheme the 17-time grand Slam winners uses for the fortnight.
Nike has not missed a trick in the promotion, designing Federer’s Zoom Vapor 9 Tour in a variety of colours: yellow/black, dark blue/light blue, orange/black and light blue/yellow.
The chosen footwear will be used during day matches as the second seed and four-time winner makes his way through the draw at Melbourne Park.
Nike has also hooked up Argentine Juan Del Potro with a new look, the Air Max Cage, which will make its debut during the Grand Slam fortnight.
The company says that the new shoe line features an Air Max Cage upper pattern that uses holes to enhance flexibility and allow the mesh underneath to breathe. A combination of durability and flexibility is the unique selling point for the 375-gramme models.
