2013 Australian Open is certain to be one for the History books. Yup! No doubt. We see the the season starting off right where it left off with the ATP world tour finals . No real changes without Rafael Nadal . No lefty spins and slices coming from Rafa. Still sidelined.
We know Milos Raonic could cause upsets. We know Bernie Tomic might get on a tear. We know Andy Murray sacrificed any off time to train, train, train.
On the women’s side there are so many talented fine tuned athletes that one never knows. We feel the depth in the ladies tour has never been stronger. Never in the history of the WTA ! Never. These ladies are so fit. They all fight for every point. They eat right , live right , train, and hone their skills. They workout all day every day. They are in gyms and on tracks they are with physios and fitness trainers.
The summer of 2013 in Melbourne. One word this year. HOT ! Yes that’s what we are hearing.
If you love tennis ,hot weather ,beer ,and shrimp on the barbies it’s the place for you. For the rest of us it’s going to be finding odd matches at odder hours.
Either way I’m convinced that it’s going to be an amazing first open of 2013. Don’t forget whoever wins it is the only contender for a grand slam for the year .
