Rafa, king of clay, took his raquet and wielded it like the now eight time Monte Carlo Rolex Masters champion should have. He defeated Djokovic showing little mercy with his 6-3, 6-1 win. Many of you Rafa fans are undoubtedly overjoyed by his astounding feat of winning the Monte Carlo title eight years straight in a row–amazing! The men have now moved onto Barcelona and Bucharest. Women’s tennis is picking up pace again as both the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix in Stuttgart and the Estoril Open in Estoril, Portugal began today. Root for you favorite players as they continue the quest to be top dog, and please don’t forget to forward our newsletter to your tennis loving friends!

Roger Federer wears a lot of Hats……

Roger Federer really does wear a lot of hats. Both kinds. All the wonderful Nike RF hats. How many do you have? What color combos? But that’s not exactly what I meant when I started to write this story.

Wimbledon 2009 was a tournament of firsts and lasts. It was the first time that anyone had won 15 Major tournaments, and it was the last time to date that an American appeared in a Slam final. It was the first time anyone had appeared in 7 consecutive Wimbledon finals, and the last time to date that Roger Federer has contested a final at Wimbledon. It was the first time that a match was played under the roof at Wimbledon, and the last time that anyone stepped out in a military style suit accessorised with a gold accented sports bag. Tennis World is OK, Rafa Still King! A Trip Down Memory Lane!

Rafael Nadal remains unbeaten at the Monte Carlo Masters, winning an unprecedented 8th straight title at the prestigious tournament over World #1 Novak Djokovic in the final. In the first ATP 1000 clay event of the year, speculation was rampant over whether or not Djokovic would be able to continue his current dominance of the tour on the clay surface. Djokovic’s toughest opponent this past week was not an opponent he found across the net but rather the traumatizing news of his grandfather’s passing.
