Singles – Quarterfinal: (7) Sara Errani def. (2) Julia Goerges 6-2 6-3

For once Sara Errani earns enough points to count. She is on the brink of the Top Thirty. But Julia Goerges fails to make the Top Fifteen — and her Stuttgart points are about to come off.

Singles – Quarterfinal: (3) Dominika Cibulkova def. (Q) Yuliya Beygelzimer 3-6 6-0 6-0

Dominika Cibulkova is not only the highest seed left in the draw, she is also the only Top Thirty player. Win the title and she is Top Fifteen….

Singles – Quarterfinal:Sorana Cirstea def. Olga Govortsova 2-6 6-1 6-3

It looks as if this will put Sorana Cirstea in the Top Forty.

Singles – Quarterfinal:Carla Suarez Navarro def. Simona Halep 6-4 6-1

Simona Halep, on the other hand, loses her Top Forty chance. It appears she will be #42.

Doubles – Semifinal: (1) Errani/Vinci def. Cetkovska/Zahlavova Strycova 6-2 6-0

Doubles – Semifinal: Pennetta/Schiavone def. Begu/Dominguez Lino 7-5 6-2

A big event for Italian doubles players! Wonder who goes to the Olympics…. (Well, they all could, based on their current rankings.)

Copenhagen

Singles – Quarterfinal: (1) Caroline Wozniacki def. Alize Cornet 6-0 6-3

There isn’t really much to say about this except that Caroline Wozniacki still hasn’t earned any points.

Singles – Quarterfinal: (2) Angelique Kerber def. (6) Mona Barthel 6-2 0-6 7-5

This, plus the loss by Julia Goerges, means that Angelique Kerber has clinched the #14 ranking. We show Mona Barthel at #35. It will be interesting to see if she can earn a Roland Garros seed.

Singles – Quarterfinal: (3) Jelena Jankovic def. (5) Kaia Kanepi 4-6 6-1 6-3

Jelena Jankovic is burning through a lot of energy, but she appears to have earned herself the #18 spot. Kaia Kanepi loses her Top Thirty chance.

Singles – Quarterfinal: Petra Martic def. Bojana Jovanovski 6-4 4-6 6-3

Petra Martic is up to probably #52; another win would make her Top Fifty.

Doubles – Quarterfinal: (3) Date-Krumm/Fujiwara def. Dekmeijere/Kondratieva 6-3 6-2
