It’s been awhile….. Hanging out with Global Chick has had me spinning. First it was the Golden Globes …. Followed by the Academy Awards… Then party after party…. VIP swag suites… Hanging with Clooney…. It’s been fun… But time to get back to 10s.
Sounds like everyone headed to the California desert to check out the action at the BNP Paribas Open. Me? I’m holding down the fort. Oh well. That’s what Big Boss said I deserve for goofing off……
The reports are it’s been beautiful in the Coachella valley. Very windy at times and a bit cold. The Forecast calls for warmer days ahead….

Don is a great addition to the site. He really gives great in depth analysis. He has been the tourney director for one of the more unusual tennis events the pros have ever known. “The Huggy Bears”. It was held in the New York area for 25 years just prior to the US Open . Don scouted and recruited all the players. Made the teams. Those guys had a truly unique event. With tons of money going to charities.
It hit me so funny how he coined the phrase “Roswallian ” backhand. Ken Rosewall had such a magnificent backhand that Geezer said that when Rosewall was playing always try to sit on the side closet to seeing the master slice that shot. South Orange, New Jersey comes to mind back in the sixties….
Craig Cignarelli wrote a great story about coaching in Malibu. The Pacific Ocean really makes a great backdrop … Besides being a fantastic guy and awesome 10s coach … Craig has the gift of making up new words. Almost daily he invents a new one and puts it up on his Facebook. Check it out.

Sven Groeneveld the world famous coach and winner of 10sballs.com ‘ s coach of the year for the past 3 straight years…. (2010,2011,2012) has been entertaining his folks. The wonderful Jope and Annika. Read his story…. It’s so great when a player or coach gets to share their world with their family.
The BNP Paribas Open has always been a great event. Always. But once Larry Ellison really takes over the operating of the event it has the possibilities of becoming the most amazing event … It will truly be the Western United States version of a Grand Slam…. Only 2 out of 3 sets instead of a slams 3 out of 5.
Check the site for TV listings. Lots of coverage … I’ll be a TV viewer too ….
Keep your eye on the ball or as our old buddy Pancho Segura would say and giggle. Keep your eyes on the balls ….
