The quarter finals are underway and the semifinals are approaching rapidly. After Nadal’s long and trying match against Tomas Berdych he finally overcame the man after four hours and 16 minutes, defeating him 6-7(5), 7-6(6), 6-4, 6-3. Nadal’s most recent win pushed him into the semifinals where he faces the four time Australian Open titlist Roger Federer. Djokovic has played hard his whole way through and faces David Ferrer in the quarterfinals. Federer won his 1000th match on tuesday after defeating Juan Martin del Potro. He praised del Potro afterwards saying he is sure to do well this year. Rohan Bopanna and Mahesh Bhupathi didn’t advance to the quarterfinals; however, Bhupathi’s former teammate Leander Paes is battling it out for a possible semifinals match.
