Roger Federer is busy training in Dubai. Other players realize it makes a great place to train for the start of the year in Australia… Word is Ana Ivanovic is there with her golfer Adam Scott? Also that Caroline Wozniacki is there with her golfer Rory McIlroy? Roger just shot a commercial on his “off” time. (With Nike perhaps)?… Julia Goerges is there? Kveta Peschke?
The USTA. What a group… If you don’t have their “rubber stamp” (cookie cutters) you are really on your own. Yep. Like why is Jack Sock not going to Australia? Could it be it’s really costly? Melanie Oudin what’s your plan? Why am I ranting? Well the USTA is a large group of closed-minded people… The travel office should have bought a plane ticket for every player plus one (coach, parent, sig. other) to every player entered in the play-off tourney for the Aussie Open wild card. I’m serious. It’s a costly trip to start the year down under… Why do I especially feel that Jack and Melanie got ignored? The duo won the U.S. Open mixed doubles championships. Can’t we reward them… I applaud them!…
While I’m applauding – I want to applaud Donald Young Jr. and his coach/mother Illona. D.Y. finished the year in the top 50! His ranking today is 39 in the world. He is also the 4th highest American player. It goes: Fish, Roddick, Isner, and Young!
Congrats and accolades go out to 10sballs.com patch wearing friend Xavier Malisse. Xavier also known as the X MAN finished the year @ number 49. That’s Top 50!!!! X is coached by countryman Maxime Braeckman. A young coach in age but a fantastic coach. He brings a fresh perspective to the art of navigating the world with a thoroughbred. In 2011 it was Max that set X man up to play dubs in Indian Wells with Alix Dolgopolov. They won the event, beating the Swiss team of Federer and Wawrinka.
We send out a hello to all of the site’s pro playing friends… Greetings are pouring in from all over the world… The Calendars are being sent out, and half are gone already.
Onto the subject of the ATP/CEO. I still say Richard Krajicek was the man for the position. Just FYI. At no time has this site or any of its people spoken to Richard Krajicek or his representatives on this subject. The opinions stated are simply based on the knowledge of the man we know.
