10sballs.com announces today that we are supporting Richard Krajicek for the top position at the ATP. Richard Krajicek was Wimbledon winner of 1996. Richard Krajicek, the tourney PROMOTER, as well as the Tourney Director of the Rotterdam event, all of us – we are old friends. So, we are huge fans of Richard. He took on a tourney (Rotterdam) that was seeing hard times and made it an event for all to envy. It became a hugely successful event for Krajicek.
Does the ATP need a business man running it?… NO! We’ve seen the suits… They all were so-so at best. (Suits showing up for trophy ceremonies).
Richard would understand why you can’t ask these players to use different balls weekly. He will understand the nuances. Richard, during his playing years, kept his entourage very selected and small; he didn’t need a dozen “yes-men” around. He just needed a few good friends.
Richard is brilliant. He combines the rare qualities of a promoter of the sport as well as the qualities of a proven great administrator of the sport. Richard’s been on the ATP board for a long time. Richard is very humble, very well mannered, and very honest. He will make sound and solid business agreements that benefit the tour as well as the players. He is the man they’ve needed forever!
Why am I so adamant and outspoken? Well, it’s basically because he is Dutch (polite) and I am A New Yorker (straight forward) … He is too polite to blow his own horn…
Dear Roger Federer please trust us on this one – same with Rafael Nadal, inc. and Novak Djokovic – Richard Krajicek is the man for the job. He loves the sport. The history of the sport. He could have made zillions as a man doing international business. But, no, he stayed in tennis because he loves tennis. He is a friend of tennis.
He is a guardian of the game. We haven’t had a candidate like this come along before. Tennis, the ATP, they all would be blessed to offer him the position and even more so if he takes it.
King Richard! Oh, I forgot: he is witty, charming, and hard working… I’m sure I forgot a lot more. But the bottom line is he is the whole package. The real deal. He is the only person to be considered at this time.
