X MAN did a trick of sorts .. He ran for a drop shot and had a real crash with the umpire’s chair which, seemed like a total wipeout. Only to be able to be taped up and back on court to almost beat the number one player in the world. He came close. Xavier Malisse lost 6-2,4-6,7-5. Trick and treat. Treat? He wasn’t seriously injured. Bummer he lost…. Oh what a treat that would have been for Roger Federer…. The joker gone in the first round…..

Qualifier James Blake beat his buddy Mardy Fish. Mardy was forced to end the match after just one game. Achilles pains. Trick. No treat. Poor guy…

Big treat. Sam Querrey won his first match since “Queens” (still miss Stella). It was over Ernest Gulbis of Latvia 6-3,6-4. Big treat.

Treat. Thomas Shubert’s going to update us about Halloween in Hawaii. It’s a very big deal on the islands.

Treat. Widcards Jack Sock and the unstoppable Michael Shabaz beat Kuznetsk and Smyczek in Charlottesville.

The only way to describe this U.S. open is soaking wet without raining... It's really hard to play tennis when your socks are soaking wet and you are "sloshing" in your shoes. Your shoes get really heavy when they get wet.
