Agnieszka Radwanska, the new champion of the Women’s Singles 2011 Beijing China Open, said in a post-match press conference that her win was the biggest title in her career after winning inTokyo.

The winner of the Women’s Singles finals last night came in with no expectations, but climbed her way to her win despite her busy schedule with the tour and also playing in doubles matches.

“I really didn’t expect that; I was just going to Asia to play a tournament,” she said. “You know, my body, was already sore after Tokyo and everything.

“Well actually, if someone will say I’m going to win those two tournaments I would say that you’re crazy because it was two big tournaments, all the top players were playing.”

She added that the strenuous and hectic schedule has definitely taken a toll on her body, but she is taking necessary measure to make sure she is in top form.

“I thought I’m not going to able to do (play well) because, you know, actually I’m not physically strong like other. My body was already sore after Tokyo and everything,” she said.

“But of course I have couple of tapes and spending lots of time in the physio room and massage room just to fixing my body everything. I think it was worth it.”

Petkovic: I love playing Radwanska. I just want to beat her one day.

Andrea Petkovic seemed to be disappointed having her opponent beat her for the fifth time. But today, the defeat was at the Women’s Singles final of the 2011 Beijing China Open.

During a post-match press conference, she addressed all the issues that led to her loss despite her solid second set where she dominated Agnieszka Radwanska 6-0.

“It’s a think line on my returns between being aggressive and effective and still staying with a few unforced errors as possible,” the runner-up for the 2011 China Open Women’s singles said.

“I think all in all I didn’t miss a lot, but I missed two important returns on a seconds serve. So (it) has to improve next time or I will hit my head,” Petkovic joked.

Despite the epic match that upset the World No. 11, Petkovic voiced her disappointment but kept on the positive side of the outcome.

“Yeah, I think all in all, in two or three days when the disappointment settles in a little bit I think I’ll be able to look at it as a really great match and great entertainment for the people,” she said.

Also in the press conference, Petkovic explained her knee-incident that caused her to break down in tears for a short while.

“I was just really scared in this moment that something might have happened,” she said. “I had surgery three years ago on the right knee, so it’s a weak point.

“It’s just blocked sometimes. So I was really scared, and it was kind of a scary moment for me. But after three or four minutes I realized that everything was fine.”

Moving on from her defeat that night, Petkovic shared her mental incentive that was visibly written on her left palm during the finals to help her cope with her struggle to keep her cool during the match.

“Just stay tough; stay calm, and play the next point,” she said. “Because I know that’s the only way to become a champion on day, to keep your mental stuff together.

“I’m still struggling with that a little bit. I am improving a lot, but I have to be much, much better in this part of my game.”
