An Open letter to Roger Federer and Family… with a message to the rest of the “pack.”

We here @ 10sballs.com are hoping you are having a wonderful and much deserved” Vacay”… Holiday…. Rest… Relaxation… Decompression…add. For sure add some Pampering. Lots of quiet time ….at least as much as you can get with 2 little 2 Year olds running about ..

For Roger … We’ve seen better years. But we’ve also seen some great matches. Super sets. Great games … R.F. played some amazing shots… Some insane gets… Some great tweeners… Some huge serving. First and seconds. You came so close so many times. You held precoius match points. Ouch. Opportunities slipped thru fingers like the sands of Dubai ….

We are not going to say bad luck. But a little. A net cord here or there. One point here or there. Everything was too darn close. And sometimes we so wished for a slam for 2011 . Still hoping for a good showing in the year end. And the Finals in London. …

Rogi you brought tennis to heights and altitudes never before attempted. You raised the bar. Then we get Rafa the bull to face the maestro /matador. Then we get all the top fifty players getting fitter and fitter and almost doing super man type athletic feats ….. all court overall athletic ability. Throw in all these huge beast of men. And then there’s Mr. Bounce, bounce, bounce. Add Two Andys. And depth that has never existed in the sport. And add all the new equipment.

Ok. So you get my point. On one side we have Roger Federer all 6’1″ ( 187lbs) of him against :

Tomas Berdych 6’5″ 2oo lbs.

Marin Cilic 6’6″ 18o lbs.

Juan Martin Del Potro 6’6″ and 182 lbs. John Isner 6’9″ 245 lbs.

Ivo Karlovic 6’10” 23o lbs.

Gael Monfil. 6’4″ and 177 lbs.

Sam Querrey 6’6″ 2oo lbs.

Robin Solderling. 6’4″. 192 lbs.

JO Tsonga 6’2″ and 2oo lbs.

For the record :

Andy Roddick 6’2″, 19o

Andy Murray 6’3″,180

Rafael Nadal 6’1″ ,185

And last but not least the man of the year with 3 grand slams. Mr bounce bounce bounce himself is ….bounce, bounce

Noval Djokovic @ 6’2″ and 175 pounds.

Seems like there are some big fit guys and then there are some HUGE fit guys. Maybe like boxing…. a weight class? Or a height class? Like 6’5″ of 6’6″. And you are in the tall guy league? Those guys have such a view to pick out there targets and angles in the service box. Almost impossible to pass. Lob. Etc.

What do you all think?

The only way to describe this U.S. open is soaking wet without raining... It's really hard to play tennis when your socks are soaking wet and you are "sloshing" in your shoes. Your shoes get really heavy when they get wet.
