Donald Young jr. 10sballs.com and the entire family say bravo to you! We have been strong supporters forever…..! Well for a long, long time….. We remember the “Katrina” year when you won Kalamazoo giving you a wild card in the US Open … Maybe you like hurricane years?
All we know is every single time we ever saw you play you had improved some portion of your game. You always got better and better. Maybe not as fast as some expected. But I always compared Donald (D.Y. To his friends) to Freddie Adu. Poor Freddie hasn’t had the success that Donald Has had… Similar sizes……
Donald is amazing. His lefty spins are RAFAEL like. Doesn’t have the rotations in the spin but they are close…. His speed around the court. His “soft” hands that hit beautiful volleys. He has improved his return of serves. Balls in play. His serves are bigger. Best of all… Drum roll….. He basically is a fantastic kid. He doesn’t drink or party. His favorite book… The bible. His favorite thing to do. Play tennis ! Enjoy going into the second week of a slam your “home” slam! Good luck kiddo! You can do it!
Rafael Nadal. Man that was some weird scene in the ” presser” yesterday
Now I’ve seen it all. No one came to his aid for the longest time. Benito where were you? He looked like a bad western and he was practicing a I’ve been wounded Scene. The pain. The cramp? The slide under the table…… They could use that picture in his drink responsibly campaign or you might fall under the table? Poor guy. It was painful to watch. But help took too long in coming. Ghats our RAFAEL… (right D of ca?)
Jack Neworth and his Dear Aunt Amelia. Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts of Pancho Gonzales with us. You wrote a beautiful tribute to a beautiful warrior. 10sballs.com loves the Panchos. The best player we ever saw before FEDERER would have been Richard Gonzales.
Gussy Moran who won the US Open indoors with Pancho said he would be too nice to the other female in mixed. Never served too hard never intimidated. Always a gentleman. The year was 1949 and Gussy won both the mixed. The ladies doubles and the ladies singles.
Big congrats to the Gonzales family. Big Pancho we will never forget you.
