New York City. The Big Apple… Here we are at The Waldorf Astoria.. built in 1931 we wondered if it would hold up during the earthquakes shaking … the shaking. We were serving at flushing when the shaking started. Geez I thought I finally had made a great shot. All that shaking in NYC.
Washington DC. Cincy… Atlanta… Not where you’d think … (not Los Angeles , but they had a riot..) It was on the summer tour stops. The US Open is around the corner and you could feel the buzz instantly. Then we had the added excitement of the earthquake. Yes we felt it at the national tennis center.
The last slam of the year. What a long summer it has been. From coast to coast and back again.
Worked out and hung out with team Adidas high performance. Sven Groeneveld and Mats Merkel. What a level of training! Darren Cahill works with them he also does quite a bit of TV commentating. If you haven’t noticed his observations are always the keenest. Now. The weather guys are watching Irene. You know Irene. The tropical storm that fried Richard Bransons home on his Neckers Island. Irene could hit NYC early next week. I love. It when they say even if she isn’t much of a hurricane she will bring RAIN. We hate the” r word” … it doesn’t mix with tennis. Ok. No more talk of rain…. or earthquakes …
Busy week around the office. Papers flying off desks. Letters in mail. Emails everywhere. Everyone is on three things at once. Cell phones. Smart phones. Pin numbers. Ipads. Laptops. Everyone is multitasking. Geezer here. Sorry Lovey was catnapping in sun. Its great to be staying in a short driving distance to the event. It saves so much stress everyday not to be in traffic.
It’s going to be Brace for Irene. How is Serena seeded so low? And we are still glad we are here…
