Roger Federer isn’t in Los Angeles. But his RF clothing is everywhere. Lots of people wearing RF hats on their heads. Shirts… Jackets… The tribute they pay the Mighty Federer is a beautiful thing….

Looking over 10sballs.com homepage I see the usual odd and misc stuff. I am eccentric and the site is eclectic. And always life around the site is hectic. So there you go…

THE FARMERS CLASSIC finals are today. (Thanks for everything Pedro)… GEEZER was excited to see that 10sballs.com star player X MAN. Xavier Malisse of Belguim. Is in the Dubs finals with Mark Knowles. X wears our patch on his sleeve. The exposure we have gotten from that sleeve is untold hours of international. TV air-play. Today. Tomorrow.(All summer) There’s another sleeve for rent so don’t hesitate to contact us re: Xavier …

Mark Knowles is 39 years old. A graduate of UCLA where the event is being held. We talked to Mark before and after the match. He is thrilled to be playing on his HOME court. He even has a few old frat boys here to cheer him on… the match is being played at noon. So hopefully they will control themselves. Also hope Mohamed is in the chair.

X is now 31. So geezer is hoping these perfectly seasons players pull off the win …Mark is now a Daddy with three little ones. He makes seriously “sick” volleys. X makes “sick ” shots. At least six a set.

What’s with some of these tennis players and there new hair-doos? Have you seen our photos of Verdasco shaved head? Or Bagdatis? Yikes… He is so cute… Now he looks like he lost a bet… I can’t say more …ok…it looks not so good. …

Last but certainly not least. We must mention Xavier Malisse’s great coach, MAX BRAECKMAN. A young guy at 26, but a super motivator. Practice partner. Coach … Worldly way beyond his years. Did I mention? Handsome. Bright, charming and well mannered… Ok. Join the fan club…

Funniest moment of the week was when the Belgium coach was greeted by an usher at UCLA with a “Howdy ” …… he was absolutely perplexed by a word he had never heard before … He thought he was in the wrong section… its L.A…. Folks… we even had a riot within blocks of the tourney hotel in Hollywood. Yes, Hollywood… Go figure… The players had to ride 60 minutes in the car most ways. That night. They had some cars stuck 3- 4 hours.

Maybe next year the tourney might find a good rate in Long Beach ….

The only way to describe this U.S. open is soaking wet without raining... It's really hard to play tennis when your socks are soaking wet and you are "sloshing" in your shoes. Your shoes get really heavy when they get wet.
