Tennis is a sport of a lifetime. It’s a sport to play for fun. For stress busting. For meeting and networking. We are living in strange times. It’s the sport for NOW.
Tennis crosses over to the mainstream Roger, Rafa, William sisters …all these tennis players are household names. It’s great. I love tennis. Maybe that’s why they called me” Geezer”. Ok. It’s an old game. But it’s also a game you can play as you grow old. I know a guy in Indian Wells about to celebrate his 85th Birthday and he wants to spend the morning playing singles in 112 degree heat. That’s Fahrenheit. Way to go Ron!
Nottingham update: Donald Young Jr. Also known as DY lost first round to a player who really knows how to play on grass. Score was 6-3,6-1. Conor Niland was the winner. It’s a BIG day for Conor and probably the biggest win of his life. He hails from Ireland. They do know a thing or two about grass in that country. He was born in Birmingham England and resides in Limerick…. Twenty nine years old… They’ll be celebrating in the pubs tonight. The match time was an hour and twenty minutes. So the match had to be closer than score reflects.
DY had hurt his wrist in May. Wrists can take sometime to heal. Wrist pain can radiate down into the hand or up towards the elbow… we won’t discuss elbow pain… yes I’ve got it, fyi. This story was delayed due to power outage. Sorry.
