Happy Birthday Mom! Why use this forum to say happy birthday mom. I was really lucky. I have a great “tennis mom!” Proof… This section of an old dress. Yup. I made my mom wear it at least one whole summer if not two. Almost every match. At every tourney in a tri state section. … Yup. Most moms got to wear what they wanted. Not mine. She had to wear the lucky dress … Well it wasn’t as lucky as it was so easy to find her in that dress as well as how pretty she looked in it. Proof she was a great tennis mom. I still love the game I watched her play fifty years ago. We still play together. Watch together. We’ve loved the sport together on every surface (yes grass is our fav). She loved me win or lose. It never showed in her disposition one way or the other. Our driving to tourneys together were all adventures. Finding our way home was always the biggest challenge. Happy birthday P.B.!
This was a tennis tournament.... Like no other. This was a U.S. Open like no other.. Let's start with new logo. It's click art like ours? But we aren't the USTA.
The only way to describe this U.S. open is soaking wet without raining... It's really hard to play tennis when your socks are soaking wet and you are "sloshing" in your shoes. Your shoes get really heavy when they get wet.
What a start. First match in the new stadium and bye bye ladies number one seed and WTA World Number One. Simona Halep. Losing to Estonian Kaia Kanepi.
It was the end of an era at Crandon Park for the Miami Open last year. From the Lipton, to the Nasdaq 100, to the Sony Ericsson, to the Sony, to the Miami Open presented by Itau, Key Biscayne saw it all.
