BNP Paribas Open… Friday … And what a Friday it was. The schedule on court one was insane … Play started at 11 this morning and we are still here and it’s almost 11 at nite. We enjoyed everything… the matches were all awesome… The fans were treated to doubles with Rafael Nadal and Marc Lopez (defending champs) followed by more doubles… Roger Federer and Stan Warwinka playing Daniel Nestor and Max “the Beast,” Mirnyi … Max Mirnyi and Daniel Nestor were the second seeds but got crushed by the Swiss pair (6-1,6-2) Tough team those Olympic gold medalists (Beijing) … sorry Beast. See you next year… We will keep the orange juice flowing till next time…
10sballs.com “Big Boss” watched Ana Ivanavic beat Date Krumm. You had to wonder how Kimiko felt playing tennis when her country is in turmoil from the earthquake and tsunami…. Ana had all the usual suspects in her player box including Novak “the joker,” “Nole,” or as we refer to him at 10sballs.com. “bounce, bounce, bounce……”
Here was yesterday’s lineup on center: first match Jelena Jankovic. Followed by the Nadal dubs, followed by Kim Clijsters. Rogers dubs. James Blake and Ana. What a day……
10sball.com buddy and wearer of the patch Xavier Malisse and Alex Dolgopolov “dog” won a doubles match that finished after 11 with a 10-8 win in the third. Big congrats!
The Indian Wells Rennis Gardens were packed yesterday…. The site is outrageous So much to see… Eight courts with the replay… Great tennis wherever you wander.
There was a highlight to the day…. tennis great and legend Pancho Segura came out to watch. To visit. To coach. All the younger players love Pancho and they always love his words of wisdom as well as his wit…
