BNP Paribas Open Will Feature Great Off Court Events  |

The BNP Paribas Open promises to offer the best on-court entertainment, with the best players in the world and the addition of the Hawkeye line challenge on all eight match courts, but off-court its sponsors will deliver fantastic entertainment as well with special events and attractions throughout the tournament. Sponsors of the BNP Paribas Open have dedicated substantial time to make sure that fans have a unique entertainment experience at the event.

Title sponsor BNP Paribas is focused on making a difference by being environmentally responsible through recycling tennis balls. They have teamed up with reBounces and FedEx Ground and in the months leading up to the tournament they set a goal of collecting 100,000 tennis balls to recycle with the help of tennis clubs in Southern California. To continue this effort, they will collect used tennis balls on-site during the two weekends of the tournament (March 12-13 and March 19-20). Fans that bring at least six used tennis balls will receive a free can of new tennis balls.

Emirates, who joined the tournament as a Premier sponsor in 2010, will return with one of the most visited spots on the grounds – the Emirates Fastest Serve cage. Fans can see how fast their serve is and win prizes including two round-trip Business Class tickets to Dubai. Another unique opportunity for fans to win a trip to Dubai is through the ‘Emirates Racquet Return,’ where fans can trade in unwanted tennis racquets at the Emirates Racquet Return on-site. On Saturday, March 12, Emirates Day, ‘Fly Emirates’ caps will be handed out at the gate, and if fans are spotted wearing the cap, they will have the opportunity to win a luxury vacation. To promote their luxury cabin service fans can purchase tickets to The Emirates Stadium Club, a luxury suite offering food, beverage and comfort to watch the matches, and box and suite patrons can enjoy the new Emirates Garden Club restaurant, an air-conditioned marquee in which Box Seat and Suite Patrons can sit down and enjoy daily lunch and dinner service.

Corona Extra, the best-selling Mexican beer in the world, has joined the tournament as a Premier sponsor and the Official Beer of the BNP Paribas Open. They will offer fans The Corona Plaza, a great gathering place with new food and beverage concessions, expanded seating and a video wall display showcasing three matches at once, and The Corona Beach House, a patio-style bar in the Garden Club Courtyard. In addition, Friday, March 11 will be Corona Day with special onsite promotions.

The BNP Paribas Open is sponsoring the National 9/11 Flag’s first trip to California and a stitching ceremony is scheduled for March 10 at the Gerald R. Ford Elementary school. The Flag will also be featured as part of the BNP Paribas Open’s annual Salute to Heroes ceremony scheduled for Friday, March 11 at 6:30 p.m. on Stadium Court, and it will be on display on site in the Garden Club Courtyard Hospitality area between 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. that day.

In addition to these incredible opportunities the tournament will also host its Kids Day on Saturday, March 5. The day, which is open to the general public and includes free admission and parking, will feature a variety of activities geared for elementary and middle school kids including QuickStart Tennis, a beat the pros competition, games, face painting, a climbing wall, and more. ATP World Tour & WTA stars will put on an exhibition, and other players will be competing for spots in the tournament at the BNP Paribas Open Pre-Qualifier.

Several other exciting special events taking place during the BNP Paribas Open include Charity Night, where twenty percent of the session price will be donated to The Champions Volunteer Foundation which benefit numerous local charities; and Desert Fashions by Fila, which will feature ATP World Tour and WTA pros showing off the latest in trendy fashion.
