Day 5 Oz Open  |

After a long day yesterday it was such a pleasure of enjoying the incredible views from the balcony and having an Aussie barbecue for dinner!

Today was going to be a bit easier to plan but still this where you have to remain focused and stick to your routines!

Caroline had her warm-up on Rod Laver at 9:30 a.m. in prep for her 3rd round match, at 11, with Cibelkova (who she lost to last week in Sydney)

Our other players either had a day off or a later prep for their doubles later in the day!

Caroline won her match 6-4 6-3 and it was a sweet revenge from her loss last week! After the match we caught up and she told me that she would have a different press conference today! The press has questioned Caroline by not being open and honest and being quiet during her past conferences! In response (she told us before she went into the press) she decided to take the offense and approached the conference from the chair of the press and started by asking herself the typical questions and answering her own questions! The press took it well and realized that some of their questions were very standard and not creative and appreciated Caroline’s approach of making them aware of it!

During lunch we had a meeting with her father Peter to discuss the match and the follow up on planning/scheduling and to prep for the next match on Sunday!

Since Esther Vergeer has been here since Monday and I have not seen her I took this opportunity to go see her and share a practice on court with her and he physical trainer Marijn Zaal for a hit with Maikel Scheffers and his coach Aad Zwaan(the Dutch male top ranked player number 7 in the world) at Scotch college (another practise site)!

Now on my way back to the hotel and found out that both Ayumi Morita and Sorona Cirstea lost their doubles today!

Ayumi will be playing her 3rd round tomorrow (her 1st in her career at a grand slam)! We have just scheduled a warm-up for tomorrow and planned a practice session with Caroline Wozniacki, plus Maria will play her in doubles!

Tonight we will have a team dinner with Caroline and her parents to enjoy today’s victory!
