Kind of disappointed that the biggest man at the biggest sports agency in the world is caught up in gambling…Poor Teddy. The thrill of being you isn’t enough…your huggy bears raised a lot of money for great charities….but didn’t it form so you and your buddies could gamble big bucks in the old days? Point still is, we shouldn’t tamper with inside info or ever tank a match. But tennis is a good sport for betting. Based on some lousy chair umps I’ve seen overrule calls that are so far away from them. (prior to Hawkeye ) you have to wonder how much they change an outcome of a match…more another time.
10sballs.com sends a huge congrats to Max Mirnyi and Mahesh Bhupati for making the end of the year playoffs. I’ve lost count how many partners Max had achieved this with. Ok I checked in Greg Sharkos (ATP) media guide. 09 with ram / 07,06,05 with Bjorkman/ 03,04 with Bhupathi… (08 must have been year with Jamie Murray)….Bravo Maxim!!! Bravo team Mirnyi/Mirnaya. So much is talked about the men who make the final eight in singles. But my interest is also in the final eight doubles teams. More later…bryan bros are definitely the front runners…
Out of my dusty mid century brain. Big shout out to Thomas Hogstedt. Winner of 1983 Ferrara event. We are lucky to have such a great guy still in our sport. He is a great coach and has helped so many players.

The only way to describe this U.S. open is soaking wet without raining... It's really hard to play tennis when your socks are soaking wet and you are "sloshing" in your shoes. Your shoes get really heavy when they get wet.
