Let’s start with Caroline Wozniaki, the new number one! She will also end the year number one! Congrats to team Adidas; Sven, Mats, and Jim.

Also to Kim Clijsters for a great event in Doha, as well as Chris Rochus on retiring with using the forum to express himself. He was a player with great style, grace, and talent. Both Rochus brothers are truly great for the sport. We wish you well. Thanks! I can’t mention bros without mentioning the Bryans, what a year. Well done guys, it was one for the ages.

Congrats to Pat Rafter on his new assignment as captain of the Australian Davis Cup Team, and for bringing Tony Roche on board. To Ana, congrats on some great tennis, and to the other Ana thanks for helping the boys and girls clubs. Also, to all the players who are using this almost ” off ” season to be involved in charitable work at tennis events all over the world…..send us the 411, we will post!

Congrats to Jimmy Connors who was honored by the Vijay Amritraj Foundation this past weekend. Mike Love and Bruce Johnston, congrats on the Beach Boys performance. It was held at the same great Calabasas tennis and swimming venue that just had a visit from Brian Early. Mr. Early presented the event an award for ten great years of running an ATP 50k Challenger Event. Finally, congrats to Mr. and Mrs. Jamie Murray.

The only way to describe this U.S. open is soaking wet without raining... It's really hard to play tennis when your socks are soaking wet and you are "sloshing" in your shoes. Your shoes get really heavy when they get wet.
