A pair of blockuster quarterfinal lineups are on hand for Friday at the Memphis Open and the ABN AMRO World Tennis Tournament. In Memphis, American fans will be treated to five of their own in action. In Rotterdam, among those still alive in the title hunt are Tomas Berdych, Gael Monfils, Stan Wawrinka, and Gilles Muller.
A high-quality battle in the second round of the ABN AMRO World Tennis Tournament on Thursday saw Stan Wawrinka overcome familiar foe Guillermo Garcia-Lopez 6-7(2), 6-4, 6-2. Wawrinka fired eight aces without double-faulting as he advanced in two hours and 15 minutes.
Tennis features strongly in the 2015 Laureus Sports Awards nominations. World No. 1 Novak Djokovic leads the way, having been nominated alongside the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Rory McIlroy in the Laureus World Sportsman of the Year category.
In terms of quantity, no month on the tennis schedule is busier than February. And things really heat up this week in Rotterdam, Memphis, and Sao Paulo. Rotterdam is especially loaded, with Andy Murray, Milos Raonic, Tomas Berdych, and Stan Wawrinka all on board.
Grand Slams almost always shake things up in the rankings because so many points are available compared to other tournaments. This time around, the Australian Open did not have a massive impact. That being said, there were at least a handful of ATP players who made some significant moves--either good or bad.

As Novak Djokovic and Stan Wawrinka ready for their semi-final match Friday evening under the lights on Rod Laver Arena, expectations are high. Not only are both players in top form, having torn through their respective Australian Open draws, but they have also provided show-stopping performances in Melbourne over the past two years.
One thing we learned during the Australian Open? “Narrative” is the word of the fortnight. And none more so that the semi-final between Andy Murray and Tomas Berdych. Murray’s comeback, Murray’s coaching decisions, Berdych’s determination to make it into the Slam holders circle, and a tale of two coaches.
