Caroline Wozniacki knows all about committed runs. Three years ago, Wozniacki braved a chilly Sunday morning running the New York City Marathon in an impressive time of 3:26:23—even more notable given the part-time Manhattan resident had never run more than 13 miles in her life.

It may not have been the line-up that everyone wanted. It may not have even been the final that everyone wanted, and indeed after a veritably tutorial handed down by Martina Hingis and Sania Mirza to Carla Suarez Navarro and Garbine Muguruza earlier in the day, we needed a good final.
After the rollercoaster of emotion yesterday as Maria Sharapova closed the curtain on Flavia Pennetta’s career, it was down to the business of concluding the final round robin sessions.
We wake up, the sun is actually shining as the haze is banished (for a day at least) and magic happened in the first of the last round robins!

The good news is we are edging ever closer to a Singapore Sling. The bad news though was that the first of the ‘scenario’ notes started to circulate.
Well Day 2 at the Sport Hub and still no Singapore Slings, but apart from a little detour into the world of Japanese cuisine, it was an interesting day of chit-chat at the WTA Finals.
